Getting big!

Kylie had her weigh-in this morning!  They wanted to follow up from a doctor's appointment a couple of weeks ago to see how her weight is increasing over time.  She is up to 7 lbs 8 oz - which is a big increase from the 5 lbs 2 oz when we left the hospital.  She definitely eats like a champ throughout the day and night, so they said to keep it up.  What seemed like great news is that because she's eating well throughout the day, we don't necessarily have to wake her up in the middle of the night to eat.  She generally cries when she's hungry - and if she doesn't, we can let it go.  For some reason that's a big relief, even though we will still need to get up at night.

Playing with our "Moby" wrap!

It isn't too bad getting up with her.  I've come to know what shows are on and when - so I am amazingly up on my news and celebrity gossip around the clock.  Of course we have on-demand TV now that we've given up our cable.  We are doing Hulu, Netflix, and Sling - along with our antenna for local channels. It is pretty good for what we need.

Snuggles :)

Mike and I are doing well.  Mike is a big help on the weekends and takes larger chunks of time caring for Kylie so I can just go to bed and sleep. He will get up and give her a bottle in the nighttime as well.  His work is being great and letting him stay home if I'm over-tired or he just wants to have some family time.  I'm doing well also - I have a six-week follow up in a couple of weeks to see how my recovery is going.  While I felt great right after surgery and the week or two at home, I have started to have more pain.  I'm still taking ibuprofen every 8 hours-ish and fairly sore.

She loves to read the fine print on our pack-n-play!

Our little daddy's girl

I love sleep sacks :)

So inquisitive!

Having a baby around is pretty crazy when it comes to establishing priorities with time.  I've found that when I finally get her down during the day, I feel a flood of ideas of things to do come to mind: clean her bottles, do dishes, do laundry, straighten up, shower, eat, email/text/Facebook - - or go sleep also.  I feel such a rush of 'use this time wisely' energy that I often distract myself with several of these at one time!  The other day I found I couldn't both shower and get properly dressed at the same time - so I hung out feeding Kylie for a couple hours in my PJ's.  But generally the house is in somewhat of order at the end of the day.  She tends to do better if we get up and out in the morning - if only to grab coffee.  Her fussiest times are right after breakfast and right after dinner.

Looking forward to the weekend!
